The activities have been presented by Axier Urresti, Executive Director of Fundación Vital, and Livia López, Councillor for Sport and Health of the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council. The day before the arrival of the peloton in Vitoria-Gasteiz, on 1 July, the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca will be the stage for a solidarity initiative in favour of CaMinus, for which Fundación Vital will have the collaboration of BH Fitness. The proposal consists of simulating a section of the 209 km mid-mountain stage that joins Vitoria-Gasteiz and Donostia in a virtual and immersive way thanks to a giant screen and the technology of the Exercycle Smart Bike.
Participants (adults only) will take part in this 2nd stage of the Tour in ´multi-player´ sessions. There will be 4 shifts (at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00), with a duration of 45 minutes each and a total of 40 places per shift.
There will be 2 modalities of participation:
Experience the Tour: 20 places on a Smart Bike. This experience will allow direct interaction with the route, simulating its slopes and characteristics. Each rider will be able to see the route on their device and, in addition, the giant screen installed in the Virgen Blanca will show the location of the race peloton on the map, as if it were a live broadcast and establishing a ranking.
Accompany the peloton: Another 20 places on spinning bikes will simultaneously surround and accompany the ´virtual peloton´.
The instructor Dani Lucas will energise the activity with music and will act as a speaker to encourage the runners and give a festive touch to the day.
All those who take part in the activity will receive a top-of-the-range jersey and a backpack with a water bottle, socks and towel as a gift. In addition, a BH Exercycle Smart Bike valued at more than €2,000 will be raffled among all those who pedal.
